Our Message

We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. We teach it as the authority for faith and living. The origin of the universe, the origin of mankind, the psychological make-up of mankind, the purpose of life, and the sanctity of marriage are just a few of the areas in which the Bible gives definitive teaching.

The central focus of the Bible is on the person of Jesus Christ. It is through faith in Jesus that we can have forgiveness of our sins, with the assurance of being acceptable to God, and power to live a full life.

Our Desire

It is our desire to faithfully share and live the Word of God. It is our desire that every resident in and around Ellington be given an opportunity to know the Bible better and to understand what it says about God and man, life and death, the present and the future.

We desire that every person would hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make their own decision in regards to the claims of Jesus on their lives.

It is our desire that our church provide a loving, forgiving, and accepting atmosphere where people can grow in their relationship with God.

Our Affiliation

Venture Church Network is a fellowship of some 1,100 churches across the country, 250 of which can be found in the Northeastern part of the United States. Over the years, Venture Church Network has characterized itself as having a strong focus on doctrine, missions, and Bible teaching.

Our History

Ellington Baptist Church grew out of a Bible study among several Ellington families who were attending Somers Baptist Church at the time. With encouragement from the Somers church, a new congregation began to meet. Now after more than 25 years of God's faithfulness, the church family looks forward to whatever God has in store for its future.
